Kacie Jensen has one main priority in her life: raising her twin daughters, Lucy and Piper. Ever since her ex—the girls’ father—vanished four years ago, Kacie’s sworn to keep her head in her studies and her heart out of trouble. Moving back home to her mother’s bed-and-breakfast had seemed like the best way to start over.

But when hockey star Brody Murphy washes up on the front steps of the Cranberry Inn during a raging storm, he awakens a hunger in Kacie that she’s long forgotten…and he opens her eyes to a life she never thought was possible. With so much more to lose this time around, can Kacie trust her heart to make the right decision?

Room for You is the sweet, tantalizing first novel in bestselling author Beth Ehemann’s heartwarming Cranberry Inn series.

EXCERPT

“Shit!” The clock on my truck dashboard read 6:57.
Cutting it a little close, Murphy. Don’t blow it.
I rang the doorbell. Sophia opened the door, her face contorted with confusion.
“Hi, Ms. Jensen. I’m here to pick up Kacie.”
She giggled and stepped back. “Oh, you’re adorable. Come in, Brody.”
“These are for you.” I handed her a small bouquet of tulips.
“They are beautiful, thank you.” She furrowed her brow at me, still trying to figure everything out. “Hang on, I’ll get Kacie.”
She disappeared around the corner and I stayed in the foyer, waiting for my … friend. Lucy and Piper came tearing toward me from the back family room.
“Brody, are you sick?” asked Piper.
“Yeah, do you have a fever?” Lucy asked, tugging on my shirt.
I bent down to her level as she felt my forehead. “Nope, not sick. Why?”
They looked at each other and shrugged.
“Mom was on the phone with Auntie Alexa and she said you were hot. If you’re hot, you have a fever. Do you need medicine?” Lucy continued the inquest.
“She said I was hot, huh? Interesting. I promise you, kiddo, I’m not sick, but thanks for checking on me.”
I held my hand up and they each high-fived me before they ran off.

Kacie came around the corner and my mouth started salivating. She had on a white, lacy tank top and khaki shorts that showed off more of her legs than I had seen before. Her hair was pulled up in a messy bun with a few random pieces falling onto her collarbone. The closer she got, the more her green eyes sparkled. She looked simple, yet incredibly sexy. I was going to need a fucking straight jacket to keep my hands off of her all night

She doesn’t want to hide her ex from Brody, but this news could take his head out of the game during the most important year of his hockey-playing career. Worse yet, it could drive her greatest love out of her life forever. Can Kacie do right by her daughters and keep Brody’s heart now that her past has unexpectedly returned?

Charming and enticing, Room for More is the captivating second chapter in Beth Ehemann’s Cranberry Inn series.

EXCERPT

Why not? Do you ever want to be a stay-at-home mom?” Brody asked.
“I don’t know. After him, I swore to myself that I would never depend on a man again. It was embarrassing to move back home and rely on my mom to feed and take care of us.”
spun to face him, nearly dropping the eggs that were in my hand. “What?”
“Down the road, when there are dozens of little Brodys running around the house, do you want to be home with us?”
“Dozens of little Brodys?” I chuckled.
“Why not?” He grinned.
“Uh, I can think of a few reasons. My poor uterus for one.” I poked him in the chest.
“Okay, fine. Not a dozen, but at least like… six.” He wiggled his eyebrows. “After that, we can just practice—a lot.”
“I’m definitely down for the practicing.” I batted my eyes at him. “And what do you mean at home with us? You’ll be traveling most of the time.”
“Yeah, but not forever. Eventually I’ll retire and do the full-time dad thing.”
Crossing my arms over my chest, I cocked my head to the side and looked at him skeptically. “Since when does staying home with kids all day interest you?”
He looked over at the girls, who were watching a movie in the living room, and shrugged. “Since them.”

Single mom Kacie Jensen must be dreaming. She’s finally found the love of her life in gorgeous hockey star Brody Murphy, and he’s just asked her to marry him. Still glowing from his romantic marriage proposal, Kacie shares the news with her twin daughters—who are delighted—and begins planning the wedding of a lifetime.

But when Kacie receives a letter from her dad, who walked out on her and her mother fifteen years ago, the happy whirlwind comes to a halt. He says he wants to meet her for lunch and catch up. But does he truly want to be a part of her life after all these years? Or is he only interested in her new fiancé’s money?

A heartwarming novel of romance, family, and lasting love, Room for Just a Little Bit More is the sweet, winning conclusion to the charming Cranberry Inn series.

EXCERPT

“Oh, I know and it’s okay. I couldn’t care less what the public or whoever thinks of our wedding. It’s for us, you and me, and that’s all that matters.”
“I’m glad you feel that way.” He bent his leg under him and turned to face me. “I had a thought while I was driving home.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’m not eloping.”
“No, no. I know that. But you’re right… about not letting them have our wedding, the paparazzi and leeches who thought it was okay to post a picture of the girls in the newspaper. I don’t want them having any part in our day, so I was thinking, what if we had the ceremony and the reception in my parents’ barn?”
My mouth fell open as he held his hand up. “Don’t freak. Just hear me out. I know it’s a crappy rundown barn, but I was thinking how cool it might look if we hung thousands of little white lights or even candles everywhere, though we don’t want to burn it down, but you get what I’m saying,” he rambled, barely taking a breath. “I can hire a company to come in and clean it up. We’ll rent some tables and chairs and whatever other crap you need for a wedding. Anything you want, Kacie. The sky’s the limit. I just want you to be—”
I put my hand over his mouth to stop the adorable, incoherent sentences that were tumbling out of his mouth.
When he stopped talking against my hand, I lowered it and scooted forward, cupping his face in my hands. I looked him straight in the eye. “Brody, I think that’s the best idea I have ever heard.”

I found a bench right outside the door at the very moment my legs decided to give out. Who knew a hard-ass concrete bench could be so comforting? I ran my hands through my hair and rested my elbows on my knees, staring at the concrete slab below me. An ant slowly walked up to my foot and stopped. I wondered what it was like to be an ant. Did they have friends and families? Did they accidentally hurt each other? Did they feel guilt? I’d fought like hell my whole life to keep my feelings in check and never let people see them, but the last two days were testing that more than any other time in my life. I didn’t know how much longer I could keep it together.

Praying was something we never did in my house growing up, but at that moment I felt the overwhelming urge to talk out loud to . . . someone.

Looking around to make sure I was alone, I took a deep breath and puffed my cheeks out, exhaling slowly.

I glanced up at the sky for just a second, quickly deciding I probably looked like a moron and that whoever I was going to talk to would probably hear me no matter where I was looking.

“Hey, whoever’s up there. My name is Lawrence Finkle, but you probably know me as Viper. Anyway—” I cleared my throat, suddenly feeling very stupid that I was talking to myself, but so desperate I was willing to do anything. “—we’ve never had what I would call an active relationship, but right now I’m feeling pretty alone down here. I’ve fucked up a lot in my life, as you probably know, but I’ve always been able to talk myself out of any trouble I got into. Well, I’ve finally done something I can’t fix. It was an accident, but I still can’t fix it, and I could really use it at the moment. I don’t really know how this works, but I’m willing to bargain. I’ll do anything—go to church, donate time and money, stop fucking strangers. I mean it, anything . . . just please . . . save my best friend. He’s a good man with a wife and kids who need him. If you need to take someone, take me. No one gives a shit whether I’m here or not.” My eyes started to feel hot and sting as I took another shaky breath.

“Mr. Finkle?”

Startled at the sound of my name, I stood and turned as a camera flashed in my eyes. Squinting and holding my hand up, I tried to block out another flash. “What the fuck?” I growled.

“Hi, Mr. Finkle. I’m Warren Sanders with the Star Tribune here in Minneapolis.” He held his hand out for me to shake. I glared down at it and then back up at him without saying a word. He quickly pulled his hand back and continued, “We heard about what happened yesterday and we were just wondering if we could ask you a few questions. Like, maybe what exactly happened? What’s his current condition? Anything you’re willing to give us.” He held a microphone in my face as the cameraman lifted a different camera onto his shoulder to film me.

Rage shot through me like a bullet shoots out of a gun.

“You want anything I’m willing to give you?” I asked coldly. “Well, I’m going to give you ten seconds to get that motherfucking camera out of my face before I shove that mic up your ass.”

“Uh . . .” he stammered. “We won’t keep you for long. We just want a quick statement.”

Without hesitation, I took three steps and grabbed the camera from the guy behind him, lifted it above my head, and smashed it on the concrete. They both jumped back, their mouths hanging open as they stared at the ground.

“There!” I pointed to the shattered camera as I walked away. “There’s your fucking statement.”

Patricia’s 5 Star Review

Sweet Perfection – there are no other words needed to describe the conclusion to Kacie and Brody’s story. From the smallest of details to the biggest of surprises, this book is sure to make you smile, laugh, tear up and sigh with contentment as you take this epic journey with Brody and Kacie.

I was over the moon elated when Beth announced she would be giving us this novella to wrap up these characters in the Cranberry Inn Series. I was in need of a Brody Murphy fix and this book delivered everything I had come to love about these characters and so much more. If you thought Brody was the most perfect, swoon worthy book boyfriend before – wait till you see what he is up to now.

I enjoyed spending time with Kacie as she went through the gamut of emotions that planning a wedding will put you through. Brody was thoughtful, as usual, but he stepped it up a million notches always making sure to take care of his girls. A little family drama spiced things up a bit and gave Kacie a reminder that blood does not always make you family.

I loved getting a bit more of Viper who is getting his own book in the series. I was ecstatic to learn that Andy will also be getting a book in the series. Happy Fan For Life!!

Patricia’s 5 STAR Review

This story picks up right where Room for You concluded. Brody and Kacie’s relationship is just starting to blossom when her ex-boyfriend and the father of her twins, Zach, shows up. His appearance threatens not only the life she has pieced back together for herself and her girls, but also the life that has just begun with Brody. Kacie finds herself torn between keeping Zach away from Piper and Lucy and wanting to let him have some semblance of a relationship with them.

As Brody resumes practices and preparation for the upcoming season, the time away from Kacie begins to wear on him. Things are tense and it does not help that Kacie’s work schedule is also a factor in limiting their time together. When word of Zach’s return comes to light, Brody and Kacie suddenly find themselves in quite the predicament.

Tempers flare and words are spoken that will both hurt and challenge these two to make some tough decisions. Above all, they have to decide whether or not each has Room for More in their lives.

I am absolutely smitten with these characters and this story. I did not think I could love Brody Murphy more than I did in Room for You. I was so wrong. Brody is swoon worthy on so many levels that I lost count. The tender way he was with the Twinkies and the admiration he showed towards Kacie, is one of the many things I love about Brody.

“You have to say no. I’m perfectly happy being the pushover. What my Twinkies want, my Twinkies get.” – Brody

RfM Teaser

“If anyone ever asked me to, it would be really hard to describe exactly what love looks like, but I got to witness it firsthand every time Kacie looked at her girls. The way she loved them made me love her more, if that was even possible.” – Brody

His playful nature and witty remarks made him difficult to resist and I loved that he helped to take some of the seriousness away from Kacie. Sometimes, she was too serious for her own good and that is something I identify with all too well.

“HOLY SH*T! THE WINKY FACE! I’VE BEEN WORKING FOR THAT ELUSIVE LITTLE BASTARD FOR MONTHS NOW!” -Brody

I loved that Brody was honest with Kacie, even when she was scared to hear what he had to say. He never backed away from telling her exactly how he felt, regardless of her own reservations and fears.

“Kacie, get attached. Please, get attached. I sure as hell know I am. You’re what I want. You and the girls. This is it for me.” –Brody

“I know we’re taking our time, especially where the girls are concerned, but you’re my more, remember?” -Brody

RfM Teaser 2

Watching Kacie slowly let go of her fears and give in to the multitude of charms that Brody had to offer, was slow and frustrating at times. But, Brody was determined to show her that he was in it for the long haul.

“Every single day that crazy man offered up some innocent text or gesture that made me fall in love with him all over again. Today’s dose came in the form of two booster seats.” – Kacie

This was the perfect conclusion to this heartwarming and sweet series. I am so pleased to have been recommended this series and I am looking forward to Viper’s story and whatever else Beth has up her sleeve.

Patricia’s 5 STAR Review

Kacie is this down to earth woman who was left to pick up the pieces of her life when her boyfriend up and left her.  She has been single for the past four years and that has suited her perfectly.  After all, she has twin girls who occupy her time and she has been managing just fine with the help of her mother.  Kacie has no desire to date let alone entertain the idea of a serious relationship.  When Brody Murphy shows up with his good looks and charming ways, Kacie finds herself thinking about what it would be like to have a man in her life. He stirs things in her that have been dormant for a very long time and Kacie has to decide whether or not there is room in her life for Brody Murphy and his swoon worthy ways.

Brody Murphy has to be one of the best book boyfriends of all times.  I loved all the ways that Brody showed Kacie what she was missing out on behind all the walls she had built to protect herself and her girls.  He was just what she needed, even if she did not know it.

“You were so scared, Kacie, just like you are about life.  I wanted you to see that sometimes, even when something terrifies you, if you just give it a chance it’s actually pretty incredible.”

Watching Kacie try to resist Brody’s charm was humorous and frustrating at times.  But with wounds that ran as deep as hers, I understood her self-preservation needs.  I loved the way Brody diligently pursued Kacie even through all her resistance and intent to just be friends.  Watching him fall for her left me grinning from ear to ear and giddy.

“She walked over to the large pot on the stove, lifted the wooden spoon to her lips and tasted the chili.  I almost lost my shit right there at the table, but I couldn’t look away.  I didn’t even care if anyone was watching me watch her.  This was the most torturous, accidental seduction I’d ever been a part of and I was enjoying every second of it.”  Brody

I loved the way Brody was with the “Twinkies” and how his affection towards Lucy and Piper was pure and sweet.  He was accepting of Kacie and the girls being a package deal from the beginning and before long he wanted more of all of them.

“Life is a sum made up of small parts, Kacie.  Some are good; some are bad.  You and the girls are definitely one of the good.  The best good there is and I’ll fight like hell to keep you here.”

This story was a breath of fresh air for me.  It’s the kind of story that makes you sigh and smile at times and leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy.  Don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of page-turning drama to keep me interested and there were a couple of times I wanted to shake some sense into Kacie. But it’s been awhile since I had a story that left me with such a ridiculous smile and happy heart, even if there was a tiny little surprise at the end.
