about the author

Jade bio pic

For years, Jade C. Jamison tried really hard to write what she thought was more “literary” fiction, but she found herself compelled to write what you read by her today–sometimes gritty, raw, realistic stories and other times humorous, light tales–but most of the stories she writes revolve around relationships and characters finding their way through life. While she doesn’t confine herself to just one genre, nor is there a nice neat label for what she writes, most of her work could be called erotic romance.

She lives in Colorado with her husband and four children.

The New York Times bestselling author of Slow Burn turns up the heat when a sexy bet turns into so much more….

Hawkin Play, the bad boy rock star with a good guy heart, has lived a lifetime of cleaning up after his twin brother’s mistakes. Hunter’s most recent screwup could land Hawke in jail and risk the band’s future. Hawke agrees to guest lecture at a local college to stay in the judge’s good graces—and a bet with his band mate to seduce his sexy teaching assistant is icing on the cake.

Quinlan Westin is harder to bed than Hawke imagined. She knows his type and is determined to avoid the rocker at all costs—even if their attraction runs deeper than simple lust.

Just as Hawke might finally be winning over the girl, his brother has other plans. When Hunter realizes his twin finally has a weakness, he’ll stop at nothing to take advantage….

Well, shit. Guess there’s not going to be any calm before the next storm. I look at my brother and sigh.

I hit the road, drive for what feels like hours. I don’t know where I’m going or what I’m looking to find, but as long as I keep moving, my past can’t catch up to me.

At least it’s a good idea in theory because I can’t outrun this shit. The stuff I want to and the stuff I don’t want to.

I end up the one place I used to go to be alone, to think, and as I stare at the Hollywood sign from my seat on the grass at the Griffith Park Observatory, I love the feeling that I’m this little person in this big world. The idea comforts me some. The notion that on the grand scale of things my problems are minute. Someone out there has it way worse.

And no one expects a rock star to be here so with my hat pulled low on my head, I’m able to disappear.

I stare down below to the city where as a little boy, scared and traumatized, I wondered how all of the dreams inside my head could ever see the light of day when I felt like I had the responsibility of the world on my small shoulders. But I did. And I made it.

So why do I feel like I’m still not enough? For my brother? To make my mother better? For Quinlan to even want me beyond the killer sex we have? For the fans who scream and sing my lyrics like they live them when they have no fucking clue the meaning behind the words?

I scrub my hands over my face, needing a drink, craving an ice cream cone, and wanting the feeling of Quinlan’s arms wrapped around me as she silently sits there and just is with me.

My mind veers to Hunter. I push the guilt away, hold on to my gut check rationalization that he deserved it, and realize that’s the trouble I’m having here. Going with my gut versus going with the bullshit promises I’ve lived by forever.

My stomach churns and my head feels like Gizmo’s banging the hell out of it with his sticks. I shove up off the grass, needing to get the fuck out of here, my heart and head in conflict and for the first time in forever I dare to think what could happen if my heart finally won for once.

FURY, Excerpt Two

Ethan?” she asked. “Is that you?

“Hello, Finley,” I answered.

“How are you?” she asked, somehow devoid of the pity I’d often heard in so many greetings since Cricket. I was grateful to her for this.

“I’m fine,” I slurred, lifting my head a bit to meet her eyes.

A grin met her lips. “You were always a terrible liar.” Her smile fell a little. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m drinking.”

She narrowed her eyes. “You hate drinking.”

“I learned to love it,” I said, downing the remaining contents of my glass, letting it burn.

She looked me up and down, making me feel self-conscious. “But apparently it doesn’t love you.”

“Thanks,” I snorted, acting like I didn’t care. But I did.

“You look terrible,” she said, ignoring me. “Are you even eating?”

“I’m consuming the daily recommended calorie intake,” I hedged.

“Ah,” she answered, examining my empty glass.

I shook my head and signaled to Vi for another.

Finley narrowed her eyes once more. “Can I get a basket of chicken tenders too, Vi?” she added.

“Sure thing,” she said, ringing up Finley’s food before grabbing the bottle of Jack and filling me to the top.

Finley examined my glass but didn’t say a word.

“What?” I asked, feeling defensive.

“Nothing,” she answered, looking at her hands.

“Judging me?”

“Not at all,” she said sincerely and looked me dead in the eye.

This look froze me, and the glass slipped from my fingers and back onto the bar top, spilling a little from the rim.

“I’ve done that very thing,” she said, gesturing toward my glass.

“Drink ’til you’re numb?”

“No,” she said, “succumb to a vice in order to forget.”

I leaned forward, stunned by this admission, and my eyes found hers. “What, Finley?”

She hesitated, started to open her mouth, but someone called her name and she turned around. It was an ex-classmate of ours, couldn’t remember her name, the one she’d been dancing with, and I found myself feeling anxious all of a sudden. I hadn’t felt anxious in a long time. Hadn’t felt anything, really, other than severe pain and shame, in a very long time. Huh.

“Finley, Chris is gonna give me a ride back home. You cool?” the girl asked, eyeing me. She knew. The whole town knew about my tumble down the rabbit hole.

“Yeah, Holly Raye. I’ll see you tomorrow,” she answered, her brows scrunched in confusion.

Finley was surprised by Holly Raye’s apparent worry which I found odd.

“Okay,” Holly Raye said, kissing Finley’s cheek.

Chris was waiting by the door for her, and we both watched them leave, afraid to speak, our earlier moment gone.

Vi walked up with Finley’s chicken tenders and set them in front of her. Her fingers found one but lifted up quickly with a tiny gasp.

“Hot,” she whispered, resting her fingers against the side of her water glass.

She let them cool for a few moments and we sat in awkward silence. I wasn’t sure what she was still doing there. I didn’t have any clue why she had even started to talk to me either. I mean, I knew in high school she’d had a crush on me, but I figured it was long gone. She used to stare at me a little doe eyed, and I had always done my best to be kind to her but not too kind. I’d considered her a friend but nothing more, even if I did take solace in my conversations with her. I’d never admitted that out loud to anyone then, though, not that I was ashamed or anything. It’s just, I was in love with Cricket.

The ache in my chest burned deep, a restless reminder of all I’d lost. And suddenly I felt guilty for finding Finley attractive even when I thought she was a stranger. Even after Cricket left me for Spencer.

“You should probably leave,” I told her.

She looked at me like I was crazy. “I’ll do whatever I want,” she said, sitting taller, pitching me that confident Finley attitude I remembered from high school.

“Whatever,” I said, then called out to Vi for another round, which she served up quickly.

Finley tore apart a few tenders then handed me half of one.

“Uh, no,” I said, downing my glass.

“Uh, yes,” she mocked, shoving the piece in my face.

“Stop,” I said, swiping it away.

“Eat, damn it,” she said.

I looked at her and the expression on her face told me she wouldn’t quit, so I roughly took it from her and took a large bite. She bit into her own piece, a smug look on her face. She practically hand fed me every piece in the damn basket, but I didn’t care. I knew what she was doing, but it wouldn’t work because the liquor resting in my belly was too substantial to be worked against.

“What have you done with your summer?” she asked me.

“This,” I said, gesturing to my glass.

“What the hell, Ethan?”

“What, are you my mother?” I asked, immediately regretting those choice of words. I closed my eyes.

Mom. My heart dropped into my throat. Must remedy that.

“Vi,” I said loudly to her at the other end of the bar. “One more.”

Vi walked the length of the bar and filled my glass again, much to Finley’s obvious horror.

“Vi, can I get some mozzarella sticks?” she asked.

“Of course, darlin’.”

Finley smiled at me.

“I’m not eating those,” I told her.

“Oh, you’ll eat them.”

“I won’t.”

“You will.”

“I sure as hell will not, Finley Dyer.”

She leaned closer and my head began to swim. Her signature scent of apples and wild daisies swarmed around me, making my heart race. It’d never bothered me before. It’s the liquor, I told myself.

“You will or I’m taking your ass home right now.”

“You can just kiss that ass, Fin.”

“That’s the Jack talking.”

“No, that’s me. I don’t want to play anymore. I want to be left alone now.”

“You see,” she said, settling her elbows on the bar top, “I think- No, I know you’re lying. Like I said before, you’re a terrible liar. I think you’ve lied so often about wanting to be left alone, though, that you’ve convinced your head it’s the truth, but you can’t convince the heart, Ethan. You know why? Because the heart can’t ever be lied to, and yours beats the loneliest I’ve ever heard.”

I didn’t answer her. Couldn’t answer her.

“What have you done this summer?” I asked, ignoring her spot-on observation.

She played along. “I’ve had a temp job here in Kalispell answering phones for Smith Travel, trying to earn cash for my trip.”

My brows furrowed. “What trip?”

“I’m heading over to Vietnam for a year.”

This shocked me. “What in the world would you go to Vietnam for?”

“Charity work,” she answered, making me laugh.

“Why?” I asked.

“Don’t be an asshole,” she replied.

“No, really, why?”

“I’ve wanted to do this for close to five years now.”

“How come I don’t ever remember you talking about this at school?”

“Ethan,” she said softly, “let’s not pretend we ever really talked in high school deeper than filler conversation.”

This wounded me a little, though I’m not sure why. “What the hell, Finley? You and I were friends.”

Now it was her turn to laugh. “We were most definitely not friends. I may know everything about you and you may know everything about me because we grew up together, but we were not friends. You had a constant bodyguard in Cricket.”

I sat up at the mention of her name. “Don’t ever say her name again,” I gritted.

She raised her hands in concession. “Fine.”

There was a pregnant pause as she let me calm myself down.

“I talked to you a lot in the classes we had,” I offered.

“We talked a lot about the upcoming football games or class assignments. Once or twice, we took the seventy-year-old route and discussed the weather.”

I fought my grin. “Okay, so it was always surface observation, but we were kids.”

“No, Ethan, that’s not what it was.”

“Well, you were in love with me,” I bravely spit. “I couldn’t take it further than just below the shoal.” Thank you, Mr. Daniels.

“Full of yourself, are we?” she asked. “Listen,” she continued, “I had a crush on you in high school. So what? Lots of girls did. But I was, am, a human being. You didn’t have to treat me like some leper. Trust me, Ethan, we all know who you belonged to,” she said.

She stood to leave, but I grabbed her arm. The heated warmth of her skin shot straight to my heart. We looked at one another, wide eyed, our chests panting. I shook my head to recompose myself. “I’m sorry,” I told her, encouraging her to sit back down. “I’m- I know you deserved better.”

She hesitated but sat back in her seat. I stared at her, a little too intently thanks to the Jack. She nodded once and we sat in a comfortable silence as I had five more shots.

The whiskey made my body heavy as hell, the weight of its honeyed venom deadened the ache inside me pleasantly.

I sighed and smiled to myself.

“What’s so funny?” she asked.

I looked up at her though it felt unusually burdensome and leaned toward her. “I’m going to get them back,” I admitted to her.

She narrowed her eyes. “Who, Ethan?”

Them,” I said, bringing a tired finger to my lips. “Don’t tell anyone.”

I fell back into my chair. I brought my fingers to my empty glass and tilted it, balancing it on one finger. She was quiet for a moment.

“Ethan,” she began, whispering, “that’s not like you.”

I smiled. “I’m not who I used to be, Finley.”

“That’s a shame,” she said, “because you used to be wonderful.”

I narrowed my eyes at her. “Do you know what they did to me?”

“She left you for him,” she said matter-of-factly.

I let the glass tip over onto its side at her bluntness. “Exactly. After all I did for her. After all I was to her. She left me for him.”

“She wasn’t meant for you, Ethan.”

My skin burned with hatred at that statement. “No one is meant for anyone, Finley. You choose someone and then you make a commitment.”

She shook her head at me. “You have no idea what you’re talking about.“

“She chose me, convinced me that she was all in, and I was willing to die for her because of it. She convinced me she actually loved me. I thought she loved me.”

“She did love you. I believe she, you both really, would have been somewhat happy if Spencer had never shown up.”

“You’re not hearing me. You both would have been somewhat happy. Neither of you would have been utterly happy.”

This infuriated me. “I could have made her happy!” I yelled, earning a few glances from around the bar.

“Yes, you could have made her happy, but not as happy as Spencer does.”

My blood simmered in my veins. “You are cruel,” I bit.

She leaned forward. “I’m being honest with you. Someone has to since you’re not being honest with yourself. I saw them together, Ethan, and she never looked at you like that.”

“Stop,” I said, gritting my teeth. “Stop.”

“Ethan,” she said, resting her hand on mine. I yanked it from her. “Don’t you want the same thing for yourself? Don’t you want forever with someone who burns for you the way you burn for her? You deserve that just as much as she does.”

“Shut up,” I said, bringing my hands to my hair and fisting it at my ears. I didn’t want to hear it.

“Fine,” she said, sitting up. She looked around her and asked Vi for two cups of coffee.

I couldn’t breathe. Finley voiced everything I’d worked so hard to drown out, I’d attempted to numb. I hated her for ruining the struggle to suppress it. I just wanted to pretend. I wanted my hate, wanted it to live close to me. It was the only thing I felt could keep me alive. I couldn’t let her go. I didn’t want her to be loved by anyone but me. I didn’t want to be reminded that someone else really did love her better than I did, that someone else made her happier. Because I had watched them too. I saw what Finley saw, and my God did I hate Spencer Blackwell for it.

I wanted bitter.

I wanted sadness.

I wanted revenge.

About FURY:

Revenge is an euphoric thing. Trust me on this. Nothing compares to the release you get when you ruin someone’s life. When they’ve stolen important things. Things that didn’t belong to them. Things I revel in making them pay for.

What? Have I offended you? I’m not here to appeal to your delicate senses. I have no intention of placating your wishes or living within your personal belief system nor do I care if you hate me. And you will hate me. Because I’m a brutal, savage, cold-blooded murderer and I’m here for my revenge.

I’m Ethan Moonsong…And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most sacrificing man to the most feared and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

ALP’s Best of 2014

In case you were unaware there are six of us on the blog.  Six.  When was the last time you knew two women to agree on anything?  Let alone six!  So instead of one master list that we all begrudgingly agreed on we have each selected our favorite books of the year.  Every list is different, some are long some are short, some are really two lists.  Some are ordered and some are just a group of favorites in no particular order.  We will guarantee you that between the six of us there is something that you haven’t read and will love.  So without further ado, our Best of 2014!!

Books2014~SAI have two list for my Best of 2014, standalones and series.  Some of the standalones are techinically part of series but can be read without reading the rest of the series.

#8 ~ Rome by Jay Crownover

Coming in at number eight on my standalones is a book that is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone, should you not want to read the entire series.

Rome was beautiful and damaged and just so good. I absolutely loved his story and his broken soul. I quite enjoyed his story of redemption and finding himself in a way that he hadn’t expected.

Rule | Jet | Rome | Nash | Rowdy | Asa

#7 ~ Deacon by Kristen Ashley

Number seven of my standalones is another book that is part of a series, but can be read by itself, if you so choose.

I’ve got to be honest and tell you I was intrigued by all that was Deacon before this book was released. He was just such an unknown. I’m glad that we got to know him in this book. He was just as hot and amazing as I thought that he might be. Deacon was protective and caring and alpha and wonderful.

Knight | Creed | RaidDeacon

#6 ~ Letting Go by Molly McAdams

This book starts out by devastating you. The true sign of an excellent book, in my opinion! My heart hurt, physically ached reading this book. There was just so much pain that leaked from the pages that I could feel it in every word. Getting to witness the healing was amazing.

Letting Go

#5 ~ Above the Noise by Michelle Kemper Brownlow

Above the Noise by Michelle Kemper Brownlow Author is part of her In Too Deep series, but can definitely be read all on it’s own. Though I do suggest reading Gracie’s story because it is incredibly poignant and brings light to an issue not heavily covered anywhere.

Above the Noise was beautiful and tragic. Instead of being all sunshine and roses there was hardship. The book was based in reality. The one we live in. It was beautiful. There were moments I laughed and moments I cried. Both happy tears and sad tears.

In Too Deep | On Solid GroundAbove the Noise

#4 ~ Rellik by Teresa Mummert

This book was intense. That’s the best way to describe it. I loved Rellik for all of the reasons he hated himself. He was much more than he thought he was. The secondary characters in the book were amazing too. I can only hope that Teresa sees fit to give them their own stories.

#3 ~ Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan

This is one the best stand alones I’ve read in recent years. Archer’s story is so tragic. He broke my heart with his innocence and heart. He was such a wonderful person faced with incredibly horrific circumstances. His ability to persevere was wonderful.

Archer’s Voice

#2 ~ Cut Too Deep by KJ Bell

Cut Too Deep is definitely not for the faint of heart. It deals with some pretty dark issues, and doesn’t tiptoe around the hard stuff. It pulls more emotions out of you than you knew a book could do. There were times that I was completely livid and times I was bawling so hard I literally could not see well enough to continue reading. When I learned what had happened to Hadley I had an actual physical ache in my chest. The depth of emotion that KJ Bellwas able to write into her book was amazing.

Cut Too Deep

#1 ~ Black Box by Cassia Leo

Black Box is a love story, but it is much more a story of survival. Of hope. Of learning to trust. It is also a story of unimaginable horrors and devastating losses. Of not having the kind of peace, love, and support from the people we need it from the most. But most of all it is a story about the darkness that lives inside of all of us and working to overcome it. Cassia did a masterful job of tearing my heart and soul open with this book then artfully patched them back together.

Black Box

#8 ~ Give Me Series by Kate McCarthy

This series is suspenseful and fun and has hot rockers. What more can you need? Oh you want danger and hot men in uniform? This has got those too. Do yourself a favor and pick this series up now!!

Give Me Love | Give Me Strength | Give Me Grace

#7 ~ Eagle Elite Series by Rachel Van Dyken

Hot. Mafia. Bosses. Do I really need to say more? I loved these books. I especially love the internal struggle that the characters go through. There is nothing I appreciate more than some damaged characters learning that they are worthy of more than they ever thought.

Elite | Elect | Entice | Elicit | Enforce | Bang Bang

#6 ~ Flat-Out Series by Jessica Park

This series was perfectly imperfect. The characters were flawed and awkward and real. There was not one person in the series that was too good to be true. Their stories were tragic and heartbreaking and real. So real. I loved every second of every book.

Flat-Out Love | Flat-Out Matt | Flat-Out Celeste

#5 ~ Playing With Fire Series by Tara Sivec

In case you haven’t noticed a theme in the books I like, I have a thing for protective forces. Be it military, security corps., mafia (that might be stretching things, but they are protecting the family!) or something along those lines. Tara’s Playing With Fire series has that in spades. Military, retired military, and security corps. There is suspense and tragedy and wonderful love stories all wrapped up in between too. If any of that appeals to you, you should check these books out!

A Beautiful Lie | Because of You | Worn Me Down | Closer to the Edge | Complete Series

#4 ~ The Ruin Series by Rachel Van Dyken

Ah, yes, she has already made the list, but I don’t care. I love this series.
There is tragedy. Lots of tragedy, as well as an overabundance of well-deserved happiness. Above all the characters find their redemption and there is little I love more than that!

Ruin | Fearless | Toxic | Shame | Complete Series

#3 ~ The Pieces Series by Jamie Canosa

I cannot tell you how much I loved this series. Jade’s story was tragic in the most horrific ways possible. Kiernan was nearly perfect in so many ways, except the most tragic one. And Caulder, good lord, Caulder. He was everything. Just everything. This series was heartbreakingly tragic and healing and wonderful. A definite must read by Jamie.

Falling Into Pieces | Angel | Pieces of My Heart

#2 ~ Becoming Calder/Finding Eden by Mia Sheridan

This story started slow, I’ll admit, but it was amazingly written and so detailed I felt like I was walking along with the characters at every turn. Add on top of that the hardships and trials that Calder and Eden faced and you have a formula for an excellent book.

Becoming Calder | Finding Eden

#1 ~ The Closer to You Series by A.L. Jackson

Come to Me Quietly has touched me in a way few books do. There is something in the the tragic circumstances from which hope is able to blossom that is completely different from other books with the same themes.AL Jackson is a masterful story teller who was able to put me not only into the heroines shoes but also the heroes. Every second of their pain and loss, their hope and love was mine. It was in me.
Come to Me Softly is a seamless continuation of Come to Me Quietly. There is no time lapse or series of events that happen between the books that we only know about because of flashbacks. We get to see the struggle that happens for Aly and Jared from the exactly where we left off in CTMQ.

Come to Me Quietly | Come to Me Softly

These are in no particular order, save my number one.

The Cranberry Inn Series by Author Beth Ehemann.

I was introduced to Brody Murphy by my friend Kaci and I am so thrilled I took her advice.

From his sweet and persistent pursuit of Kacie to the adorable way he was with the Twinkies, I loved everything about Brody. If you have not met this sexy hockey player, I encourage you to do so.

Room For You (CI #1) | Room For More (CI #2) | Room For Just A Little Bit More (CI #2.5)

Bang by Author E.K. Blair

Holy Mind F*ck! This is one of those books that I COULD NOT PUT DOWN! It was intense and dark and gritty and full of twists! I required hand holding from my book bestie, Whitney, and I am so glad that she was able to help me get through it. I am anxious for 2015 as we have the next book, Echo, to look forward to.

Bang (The Black Lotus Series #1)

The Album by Author Ashley Pullo

This was a refreshingly different read for me that both tugged on my heart and made me laugh. These characters struck a chord with me and I am so pleased to have discovered this author.

Review –>

The Album (Book #1) | The Ballad (Book #2)

 Livvy by Lori Otto

Livvy (Choisie Book #4) from Lori L. Otto is the final book in the Choisie Series. The series follows the story of Livvy Holland and Jon Scott from teenagers into early adulthood. I absolutely loved watching these characters grow up together.

It’s no secret that Lori is one of my favorite authors. She captured me as a lifelong fan with her Emi Lost & Found Series. The Choisie Series is a spin off from her first series and is packed full of feels as you get to experience the joys of first love through the eyes of Livvy and Jon.

Contessa (Choisie 1) | Olivia (Choisie 2) | Dear Jon (Choisie 3) | Livvy (Choisie 4)

With This Heart by R.S. Grey

With This Heart by Author R.S. Grey is pretty high at the top of my list. RS Grey packed all the things I love into this standalone book that kickstarted my love for this author. I encourage you to meet Beck and Abby SOON!!

From My Review:
This is a story about second chances and choosing to live the kind of life that leaves you with no regrets. It’s about being brave in a scary big world and stepping outside your comfort zone. It’s about first loves, first kisses, and all the other firsts that young love experiences. But above all, it’s about not taking anything for granted.

With This Heart

Crashed (Driven Trilogy #3) by K. Bromberg

This was the EPIC conclusion to Colton & Rylee’s story. It was the Colton we have come to love but it was intense and sweet and steamy and made me love that arrogant man so much more. If you have not yet met Colton Donovan a.k.a. “ACE”, please do soon.

Driven (Book #1) | Fueled (Book #2) | Crashed (Book #3) | Raced (Book #4 – Companion Novella)

The Seductive Nights Series by Lauren Blakely

The Seductive Nights Series from Lauren Blakely brought a Book Boyfriend by the name of Clay Nichols into my life. He is a dirty talking – suit wearing – alpha male and I am smitten with this Blakely boy.

Lauren was super busy this year giving us new book boyfriends in the Blakely Universe. I have some catching up to do on the series, but 2015 is already looking promising with another Blakely boy in the Seductive Nights Series COMING SOON!!

Chasing Abby by Cassia Leo

Chasing Abby (Shattered Hearts Series #4) by Cassia Leo was the heartwarming conclusion to this series that first sparked my love for Cassia. Abby’s story was beautiful and packed full of emotion.

It’s no secret I am an Adam girl. But let me tell you – grown up Chris Knight is a force to be reckoned with as both a loving husband and doting father. If you have not read this series, carve out some time and prepare for a journey.

All 2014 Colleen Hoover Releases

Colleen Hoover is my favorite author and she gave me three books this year. I am calling it a tie on these books as I can’t possibly choose 1.

Maybe Someday combined reading and music into one UNFORGETTABLE story. This was not just a book – it was SO MUCH MORE and I love Ridge & Sydney.

The Book – The Soundtrack – The Experience <–that sums it up right there.

Maybe Not gave us more Warren & Bridgette – something I was longing for after Maybe Someday. So Colleen graciously gave us this novella and I fell so much more in love with Warren.

Ugly Love – words fail me on how to describe my love for this book. It was unlike anything Colleen has given us before and simply reminded me of why she is my favorite author. Tate & Miles – and the possibilities of the big screen are just icing on the cake for this book.

 Patricia’s #1 Book of 2014

I thought long and hard about which book was my TOP book of 2014. So without further delay – my #1 Book of 2014 is…

Bright Side by Kim Holden

This book touched me in such a profound way and even though I was devastated by this story, I was left with such a full heart in the end. The message was beautiful and certainly left it’s mark on me. #‎DoEpic‬

Bright Side

These are in alphabetical order except for my #1 at the end

The Addicted Series/Calloway Sisters spin-offs by Krista and Becca Ritchie

There is no way I could pick just one 2014 release from Krista & Becca Ritchie. After all, the did write my favorite series. Kiss the Sky, Hothouse Flower, Thrive, and Addicted After all were all released this year and are part of the Addicted series. Why do I love these books? That’s easy. The perfect amount of angst, an amazing storyline, and some of the be…st characters I have ever read. The series covers three different couples and each are so unique that it never gets old. There are no cliffhangers but I do recommend reading in order.

Addicted to YouRicochetAddicted for Now | Kiss the Sky | Hothouse Flower | Thrive | Addicted After All | Fuel the Fire (coming soon) | Long Way Down (coming soon)

The Cranberry Inn series by Beth Ehemann

Our own lovely Patricia messaged me one day telling me about a great new series that I just HAD to read. Sweet, fun story with a hot guy… I’m sold. Little did I know that The Cranberry Inn series by Author Beth Ehemann would be so awesome it got places on my coveted re-read list.  Brody is just… sigh. A cute storyline and great side characters add even more to this story of a single mom and a swoony hockey star.

Room For You (CI #1) | Room For More (CI #2) | Room For Just A Little Bit More (CI #2.5)

Draw Me In by Megan Squires

I read Draw Me In by Megan Squires – Author almost a year ago. This was a January 2014 read but I’ve never forgotten this beautiful love story. I laughed, I cried like a baby and ended this amazing stand alone a big pile of happy goo.Spunky girl, hot businessman with a secret! Sound good? Give this clean, contemporary romance a try.

Draw Me In

 Eversea series by Natasha Boyd

I’m not always a fan of ‘famous people’ reads like actors, rockstars, etc but The Eversea Series by Author Natasha Boydswept me up her awesomeness. Three words… Jack freaking Eversea. Whoa!An actor looking to hide encounters one of my favorite female characters, Keri Ann and the sparks fly even though Keri Ann wants nothing to do with his lifestyle. This series is pretty near perfect. There is fun, there is angst, and did I mention Jack? Seriously, read it. Do it.

Eversea | Forever Jack | Mistletoe and Hollywood

Flat Out Celeste by Jessica Park

It’s no secret that I stalk the crap out of Author Jessica Park. I pretty much think she’s a genius. Flat Out Celeste (spin off from the Flat Out Love series) just rocked my world. I fell in love with these characters in Flat Out Love and Flat Out Matt so this book was just icing on the cake.Celeste is quirky and vulnerable and it was amazing to watch her fall in love with Justin, a guy with his own social awkwardness. This book contains my favorite scene of the year… the Christmas tree! If you haven’t read it, you won’t know what I’m talking about but it’s so darn sweet. I recommend definitely reading FOL first and FOM (novella) if you are so inclined.

The King’s Trilogy by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

I’m all for a good paranormal series so when a friend recommended the King’s Trilogy by Author Mimi Jean Pamfiloff to me, I got book one. Then I read it straight through and started book two the same day. I wound up reading all three books in two days because I couldn’t put them down. These are adult but oddly enough there isn’t much sex, mostly tension especially at the beginning of the series. But they are dark and gritty. Very different from anything I’ve read before. In fact, I’m still suffering a hangover from this series.

King’s | King for a Day | King of Me

Love, In English and Love, In Spanish by Karina Halle

I bow down to Karina Halle for consistently creating amazing and different books. She can change genres and still all of her books have a very “Karina” feel to them.Love, In English and Love, In Spanish were not as dark as some of her other books but damn, did they tear me apart. They are not easy to read, I could feel the character’s hearts bleeding from the …pages but it was so worth it.A young girl (early 20’s) spends a summer in Spain tutoring English students and falls for Mateo, the very hot and older (late 30’s) former soccer star. Problem… Mateo is married and though he is unhappy, they fight to balance what they know is right and their growing passion for each other.

Love, In English | Love, In Spanish

The Breaking Nova series by Jessica Sorensen

I *might* have fangirled a little over Jessica Sorensen when I got to PA for her at a book signing. I was so in love with the Breaking Nova series, I squealed when I found out the last book for the main characters was coming out on my birthday. It was like my own special birthday present.Anyhow, this series is not easy to read. They are dark and deal with issues such as suicide and drug addiction in a very real and gritty manner. I cried so hard, especially in book two watching Quinton and his struggles overcoming his problems.

Series: Breaking Nova | Saving Quinton | Nova and Quinton: No Regrets

Spinoffs: Delilah: The Making of Red (novella) | Tristan:Finding Hope (novella)| Wreck Me

Nowhere But Here and After the Rain by Renee Carlino

That dang Author Renee Carlino… can she write a bad book? How on earth was I supposed to choose between Nowhere But Here and After the Rain. I guess I give a slight edge to NBH but both of these books are too good to be ignored.Nowhere But Here has a sweet journalist who falls for a vineyard worker who is harboring a few secrets. Beautifully written, one of… the best stories I’ve read. Ever. Not just this year. Plus it’s on sale right now over half off. After the Rain is a little darker, a little more angsty and a whole lot epic. This story covers the span of several years and Ava’s struggle to love, let go and forgive as she meets a guy, Nate, who is struggling to find his place in the world. This is super emotional and if you don’t cry, I’d be very surprised.

Nowhere But Here | After the Rain

 Sparrow by Sara Mack

Sparrow by Sara Mack was breathe of fresh air for me. This second chance romance is told from the male POV and Sara does a very good job making it realistic. In fact, the realness of these characters is what makes me love them so much. Kyle is perfect, yet he’s not. He’s just an all around great guy who loses his first love as a teenager and then encounters her again in his mid 20’s.There is some angst but overall, this is a fairly light read and should leave you with a big smile on your face after it’s over. Highly recommended!

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Were you wondering when Colleen Hoover was going to make an appearance on my list? Since I’ve been going in alphabetical order, we are finally able to talk about Ugly Love!!!If you haven’t at least heard of this book, you are probably living under a rock. She has sold the movie rights, Nick Batemanis involved in the project and the book is freaking fantastic. …Ugly Love is definitely ugly at times. I cried but since Colleen can inject her snarky sense of humor into almost anything, there were lighter moments as well. Miles is kind of an ass until you really get to know him and then your heart just shatters. This is beautifully written and will remain in my favorite books of all time category.

Ugly Love

*** Tie for #1 Book of 2014 ***

The Collector’s Society by Heather Lyons and Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan

Yes, that’s right… here it is. Prior to this, my picks were in alphabetical order but I now give you my #1 read for the year. Only there was a tie. These books are so different, it wasn’t fair to choose one over the other as they are equally amazing. Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan – Archer has earned a spot as one of my favorite BBF’s with his quiet strength and…vulnerability. Bree is amazing and so loving, perfect for our silent boy. If you haven’t read this book, I am truly sorry for you. Contemporary stand alone. The Collector’s Society by Heather Lyons – This is Alice in Wonderland meets modern day romance. Part fairy tale, part mystery, part contemporary romance, TCS is unlike any other book I’ve ever read. It’s truly unique and will keep you turning the pages. This is book one in a series but ends in a good place.

Archer’s Voice | The Collectors Society

I feel like I’m not fangirling appropriately over these two authors and their books. The truth is that both had other books in my top of 2014 list other than these two so I will list those as well:

I couldn’t leave out the other books by Mia Sheridan and Heather Lyons. Mia also release Becoming Calder and Finding Eden (the two make up a series) which touched my heart and left tears dripping down my cheeks.

Becoming Calder | Finding Eden

Clearly, I like the angst which is darn good considering I also loved the Fate Series by Heather Lyons, part of which was released this year. The series starts out YA and ends contemporary (fairly clean, very little sex). This is a fantasy series and deals with ‘real’ people who possess elements of magic. I will forever carry a book hangover from this series and it’s one of my all time worst ugly cries. Please note this series also contains a love triangle.

A Matter of Fate | A Matter of Heart | Beyond Fate (novella) | A Matter of Truth | A Matter of Forever

Rock My Body by Michelle A. Valentine

This is the final book in her Black Falcon series. I fell in love with this series when I read Rock the Heart quite awhile ago. My favorite part of this book is the epilogues where we get to catch up with all of the characters from the series.

Rock My Body

After the Rain by Author Renee Carlino

This is a beautiful story about love, loss and learning to live again.

The Journey Home by Kelly Elliott Author

I love all of Kelly’s books but this one is my favorite by her. It was beautifully written and so much deeper than her other books.

The Journey Home

Burying Water by. K.A.Tucker (Author)

This was a very emotional story about finding oneself and learning to live again. What would you do if you woke up one day and didn’t remember who you were? How would you move on with your life?

Burying Water

 Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Colleen is one of my favorite authors. Her books bring out every single emotion and I love that about her writing.

Ugly Love

Fragile Bonds by Sloan Johnson

I work in healthcare so I completely understand the connection between Melanie and Alyssa throughout this book. This is a very emotional story about living life to the fullest, love, loss and second chances.

Please have a box of tissues handy when you read this book!

Fragile Bonds

My #1 books of 2014 are actually a series of books.

The Ever Trilogy by Jasinda Wilder

This series has stuck with me since the day I finished the first book in the series which is titled Forever and Always! The second book is titled After Forever and the third one is Saving Forever.

This series took me on quite an emotional rollercoaster. There were times when I was reading that I wanted to throw my kindle. Sometimes the characters made some really stupid decisions but in the end everything turned out so beautifully.

Cade and Ever are two of the strongest characters I have ever read about. They both went through some pretty horrible experiences but their love for each other got them through.

Forever & Always | After Forever | Saving Forever

#1 ~ Forever Ours & Chasing Abby by Cassia Leo

When I joined the book world I found The Shattered Hearts Series by Cassia Leo and fell in love. This year I read Chasing Abby and Forever Ours. Both are great.

Forever Ours is the prequel to the series, it came out this year. I’m glad that the new people to discover the series get to start with this book. I was a die hard Team Adam girl until this book and it brought me over to Team Chris. His love for Claire goes above and beyond.

Chasing Abby is the ending of the series and what an ending it is. I laughed and cried my way through this book. I didn’t want it to end but I was extremely happy when it did.

Both books left me with glorious book hangovers. Do your self a favor and pick this series up.

Forever Ours (0.5) | Relentless (1) | Pieces of You (2) | Bring Me Home (3) | Chasing Abby (4)

#2 ~ Magen McMinimy ~ All Books

The Half Blood Princess series (Book 1 is FREE right now) follows Sophia and her friends. It contains Vampires, Shifters, and Witches. I fell in love with this series and couldn’t put it down. This a complete series.

Blood Claim (FREE) | Boxed Set #1 | Boxed Set #2

The Immortal Heart series (Book 1 is FREE right now) is a new take on Fae and Immortals. It has almost every supernatural possible in the series. This is also a complete series.

Immortal Blood (FREE) | Series Links

Twins of Aurora series was fantastic. Once I started I had to have more from her. Because of this series I started stalking, I mean following, her. Her writing style is wonderful and has easy flow. She makes it easy to just get lost in the world that she has you picturing. It was very easy to picture my self as the main characters in her stories.

Twins of Aurora | Sacred Fire

#3 ~ Vital Sign by J.L. Mac

I have read every book she has put out and this one just spoke to me. Vital Sign is a must read for 2015 if you haven’t read it yet.

This book has so many emotions in it that it keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. while reading this I had to stop multiple times just to compose my self.

Vital Sign

#4 ~ Being Sawyer Knight & Taming Ryder by Nicola Haken

Being Sawyer Knight was my first and I loved it. Nicola has a way of writing that you almost forget that you are reading about two men. All that shines it the beautiful love story, the passion and the struggles they go through.

Taming Ryder is amazing on its own. Ryder is a strong man but in his own way. He’s cocky but you love him for it.

Being Sawyer Knight | Taming Ryder

#5 ~ ‘Til Death Do Us Part Series by Krissy V

Earlier this year I took a chance based on a recommendation from another blogger and fell in love. Krissy V’s has taken the topic of spousal abuse and made you feel what the victim and the abuser are both going through.

I have never read a book quite like this one. In the beginning the only thing I wanted to do was kill Felix my self but by the end of the series I was partially rooting for him. She showed that abuser are not only a product of their upbringing but that it can just the person them self.

Throughout all of the abuse and struggles Tasha never gives up. She pushes through and tries to see the light. She tries to keep her friends and family close through it all.

If you are looking for a great emotional and dark read then this is the book for you.

For Better or Worse | In Sickness and In Health | To Love and To Cherish | To Have and To Hold | For Richer or For Poorer

#6 ~ Love Lost by Maria Desouza

For a debut novel it reads like a seasoned author wrote it. She has a beautiful way with words that lets you imagine you are the main character. Her writing enables you to feel every emotion she portrays.

In Love Lost, Jason and Selene meet only to discover they are both after the same person. Lucio. He is the ultimate bad guy. Tall, dark, brooding, violent and drop dead sexy.

Love Lost

#7 ~ Securing Her Heart by Elizabeth James

All of her books are wonderful but Securing Her Heart is beautifully written and wonderfully heartwarming. You can tell that she poured her heart and soul in to this book.

Jolene and Ryder have know each other forever but she takes off for design school and he joins the military. Everything is going great in their lives and then the flood gates open up and all hell breaks loose. This is a great read that will stick with you and have you wondering what they are up to.

Securing Her Heart

#8 ~ Doubt (The Connected Series) by K.A. Hobbs

Yes the book has a lot of sex in it but this is actually a book that it works in. She has written the kind of book that you could take it out of and it would still get the point across. She is on the way to being a seasoned author.

Doubt | Assured | Broken

#9 ~ Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

I know this book is not from 2014 but that is when I finally read it. Many people have read it but those who haven’t need to. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover was an amazing read.

I read this book and couldn’t put it down. This was my first book by her and I plan to read many more. I have not picked up Losing Hope yet but I will. This book was a heartfelt roller coaster in its self so I am afraid to pick it up.

Hopeless | Losing Hope | Finding Cinderella

#10 ~ Shy of Tomorrow by S.H. Pratt

In Shy of Tomorrow, the main character is a librarian and she meets her love interest there. Who doesn’t want to meet their man in a library. This book has everything you could ask for in a book funny one liners, sweet and sassy banter and a lot of heart felt emotions.  It is the perfect read on a rainy day, day at the beach, by the pool or even just on a lazy Sunday.

Filthy Beautiful Lies
**Warning: this book contains an addictively filthy alpha male who will dampen your panties and own your days and nights. Proceed at your own risk.**

Meet Colton Drake…

I have no idea why she auctioned off her virginity for a cool mill. Regardless, I’m now the proud new owner of a perfectly intact hymen. A lot of good that will do me. I have certain tastes, certain sexual proclivities. My cock is a bit more discriminatory than most. And training a virgin takes finesse and patience – both of which I lack.

Sophie Evans has been backed into a corner. With her sister’s life hanging in the balance, the only choice is to claw her way out, even if that means selling her virginity to the highest bidder at an exclusive erotic club. When Colton Drake takes her home, she quickly learns nothing is as it seems with this beautifully troubled man. Being with him poses challenges she never expected, and pushes her to want things she never anticipated.

A sinfully seductive erotic romance where everything has a price and the cost of love is the highest of all from New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Kendall Ryan

Filthy Beautiful Love
Filthy Beautiful Love:
**Warning: this book contains an additively filthy alpha male who will dampen your panties and own your days and nights. Proceed at your own risk.**

Book 2 in the Filthy Beautiful Lies series.

I never expected to watch Sophie walk away. She was mine. I would own her. She just didn’t know it yet. New goal: Seal the deal and rock her world so thoroughly she never wanted to leave again.

Highly sexual and emotionally charged, Filthy Beautiful Love is the provocative conclusion to Filthy Beautiful Lies.

Filthy Beautiful Lust
From New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Kendall Ryan, comes the third book in the Filthy Beautiful Lies series.

Pace Drake loves sex. He knows where get it, what to say, what to do, and he makes no apologies for satisfying his needs. But when he meets single mom, Kylie Sloan, he’s enthralled by her, and begins to question his standard operating procedure. After all, there’s no chase, no mystery when banging a woman in a nightclub bathroom. Kylie’s depth and determination make the sloppy, drunken hookups that fill his weekends seem empty and shallow. She’s the opposite of the desperate, clingy women he’s used to. She doesn’t want or need anyone to take care of her and that only makes him want to care for her more.

Kylie’s trust in men has vanished. The last guy she was with played ding-dong-ditch-it with her uterus and left her with a baby to raise. Now her infant son is the only man she has time for, even if she misses sex and intimacy more than she’d ever admit. Opening her heart up to a younger man who’s best known for no-strings-attached sex and his casual lifestyle is probably the worst idea she’s ever had. But Pace wants to prove to her there are still a few good guys left, and watching the sweet way he interacts with her baby makes her want to try…but she can really trust that his days of hitting it and quitting it are in his past?

Filthy Beautiful Lust is the third book in the Filthy Beautiful Lies series, however it can be read as a standalone novel (no cliffhanger). To understand the full growth and development of the characters, it is recommended that you begin with book 1, Filthy Beautiful Lies.

Brody. Sexy, hot, and irresistible. He could tear down her carefully built walls.

Before  she can become the woman she wants to be, Quincy will make mistakes. And suffer one unimaginable loss.

CHoices teaser 1

Lowering my feet to the ground, he leads me to the bed. I wrap my arms around his neck and pull his head down to kiss me. I don’t want him to stop. When he’s touching me, I feel beautiful and wanted. It chases away my insecurities and leaves me breathless.

He sits on the bed and pulls me onto his lap, my legs straddling his body. My dress is pushed up over my hips, and I feel exposed. But when he kisses me again, I forget everything. His lips move from my mouth to my neck. My head falls back, exposing my chest to him, and he begins kissing me lower. I press my hips into his, and I can feel the bite of his zipper pressing into me.

“My God, Quince, you feel so good. I want you so much. You’re all I think about.” His words make me want more, and I feel the tension building inside of me. His hands wrap around my hips, his fingers digging into my skin as he rocks me back and forth. I close my eyes and lose control when my body explodes from the inside out.

Again, I’m shocked by the intensity of the moment. He slows our movements, and kisses me tenderly. Pulling me close, we remain wrapped around each other for several minutes, neither of us saying a thing as our breathing becomes even.

“Quince, have you told him? Does he know you have someone else waiting for you?”

Instantly, I come crashing back to earth.

FATE (Choices 2)

Fate cover

I’m used to getting what I  want. I’ve always taken what I wanted. No apologies. No excuses.

I know what it feels like to be betrayed, when someone else is calling all the shots. I’ve been down that road, and I’m not going there again. I’ve got my family, my friends, and the brotherhood. That’s all I need.

I believe in Fate. Everything happens for a reason. But what do you do when Fate kicks you in the gut, plays a cruel joke on you?

When I met Quincy Priest, she was a flame I couldn’t put out. A freakin’ wildfire. She blew in to my life, burned it to the ground, then left me standing in the ashes. Gone as suddenly as she came. I’m not sure if I should love her or hate her… But I don’t hate her. I could never hate her.

What do you do when the person who broke you  may be the only person who can put you back together?

Can you run from Fate?

Do you even want to?

This is Brody’s story.

Fate teaser 1

“So, what am I doing here, Brody?” Her voice cracks, like she’s nervous or scared of me. “You confuse me. I’m not really sure what you want from me.” Well, that’s an easy one.

Walking toward her, I hold out my hand. ”Quince, it’s not about what I want from you. It’s about what I want with you.”

She hesitates before reaching for my outstretched hand, and I pull her to stand in front of me. With her boots on, she’s a little taller and a helluva lot sexier. I draw her close, her body perfectly aligning with mine. Indecision floods her eyes, warning me that I will scare her away if I move too fast. So instead, I begin to sway with the music that penetrates the walls.

She moves with me,  setting a slow, seductive rhythm, her hips gently swaying to the beat. And when she lays her head on my chest, I wonder if she can hear my heart, pounding inside.I feel her breath on my neck and her body flex as she rises to her toes, just before her lips touch the sensitive spot just under my ear. Breathing in deep, I tilt my head back, giving her control. Her lips part, and her tongue glides over my skin, blazing a path down my neck. My hands are suddenly in her hair, tangled in it, urging her on.

“Fuck, Quince. You are  driving me crazy,” I whisper. My voice is deep and hoarse. This is sweet torture. My words seem to ignite something in her, her hands finding the bottom of my shirt and tugging it up. Her movements grow more hurried, more needy, and her breath comes in short bursts.

Yeah, I think Little Miss Perfect likes dirty talk.

***This is a Choices novella that can be read as a standalone. The characters of Choices/Fate do make an appearance in Patience.***

Patience teaser 1

Eric’s POV

As soon as the door closes, Jenna quickly turns, pushing me back against the door.

“You think I didn’t notice you checking me out?” The playful lilt of her voice sends chills up my back and down my arms, anticipation settling in the pit of my stomach.

“I can’t help myself when you look like this,” I groan as she runs her hand down my chest, pressing her body against mine. The way she molds to me, hip to hip, it’s as if she were made just for me.

My hands run up her thighs and around her ass, pulling her into me. I hold my breath as she leans closer, her lips ghosting across my mine, a whisper that is… almost. My eyes are drawn to hers, never wavering as she pulls back, her lips gliding along my jaw, to my ear, her soft exhale shooting bolts of pleasure pulsing through me. I close my eyes, anticipating her touch, her tongue… Her mouth moves against me as she whispers, “You are in so much trouble, Eric James.”

She abruptly pushes against my chest, freeing herself from my arms, backing away with a sly grin on her face. I take two steps toward her, and she holds up a hand, halting me where I stand. I’m confused. “What the hell, Jenna!?”

“You silly boy. You didn’t think you were going to get off that easy, did you?”

Still smiling, she sashays to the closet, those long, bare legs carrying her further from me. Slowly, she bends down, her shorts riding up to expose the soft curves of her ass, as she removes her boots one at a time. Every movement is calculated, orchestrated to draw me into her wicked web. Yeah, she knows exactly what she’s doing.

“Sunshine, you do not want to play this game with me. I will win.” My eyes trail back up her body as she stands. When she glances at me over her shoulder, her eyelids hooded, my body responds immediately.

“Oh, yeah?” The tip of her tongue runs over her bottom lip before she pulls it between her teeth. “I’d ask if you wanna bet on that, but you already did, didn’t you?”

That saucy little shit. I’ve never wanted anything more in my life.

Hope teaser 6

Declan’s POV

“Do a shot with me?” She sways against me, wrapping her arms around my neck, and I wonder how much she’s had to drink.

“Can’t. I’m driving tonight.”

“Oh, come on.” She pinches her fingers together, saying, “Just one little shot?”

“One.” I give in but not without a price. “If I get to do it my way.”  Her brows shoot up, her eyes swirling with questions. She has no idea what those red lips do to me, that if we weren’t in the kitchen in the middle of a party, I’d throw her down and ravish her right this instant.

“Yeah? What’s that?” Breathy. Soft. Sensual.

“Body shot.” I push her backwards until she’s propped up on her elbows. I reach for a shot glass, filling it to the rim with tequila.

Once I’m done, I push her skirt high up on her thighs and place the shot glass between her legs. My hands linger, burning from her heat. Her eyes darken as her breathing hitches in anticipation. Next, I reach for a lime, running it down the top of her thigh, lingering when she gasps and closes her eyes. I add salt, sprinkling it down the wet line drawn in lime juice. Bending my knees, I lean down. I look up at her, our eyes meeting in one, brief heated moment. Ever so slowly, I lick the salt and lime from her leg, trailing my tongue over the soft skin there. She gasps when I move upward, my face nestled between her legs as I take the shot glass between my teeth and stand. I tip my head back and swallow the contents, a slow burn blazing a path down my throat. Without using my hands, I bend and drop the glass onto the counter.

“I should’ve known,” she whispers, her eyes half-closed as her hand grips the edge.

“What?” I smile knowingly. I’d bet my car I know exactly what she’s thinking right now.

“You don’t do shots like a nice guy. You had to go and make it all sexy and shit.”

I smile knowingly, her assessment unleashing a week’s worth of pent-up frustration. I’m trying, with all my might, to treat her right, but she’s not making it easy.

“That’s because you’re all sexy and shit.” I lean in, stealing one more kiss before she pushes me away, giggling. I push off the counter, standing in front of her. I take her hand, helping her down, her body sliding down mine one inch at a time. She backs away, her gaze never faltering.

She can pretend that she doesn’t want this, but her body doesn’t lie.
