Finding Alexei by Kendall Ryan ~ COVER REVEAL

Spotting a hooker on a city street corner is not an abnormal thing.

Me bringing one home? Well, that’s a first.

But this girl . . . She’s in trouble.

And this asshole is not a guy she wants to go home with.

So I do the exact thing I shouldn’t—I offer to bring her home with me instead.
She says this is the first time she’s ever done this, which is adorably ironic.

Then proceeds to tell me a sob story about needing money to care for the baby who was left on her doorstep. That’s when my stomach starts to clench. I think she might be telling the truth.

So I do what any respectable man would do—I take her home, stopping to pick up diapers and formula on the way—and discover that she was telling the truth all along.

Christ on a cracker.

I should have just kept walking.

I should have done a thousand other things except for barge into her sad life, offer to fix everything, fall for her . . .

NEW RELEASE!! Dear Jane by Kendall Ryan ~ Sarah A’s Review

broke her heart ten years ago and left town.

She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.

But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?

But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.

News flash, buddy: I am over you.

Dear Jane was a sweet, swoony, story; great for a lazy afternoon read.  I had such a fun time getting to know Jane and Weston, along with his teammates.  I live for second chance romances, and Dear Jane catered to my guilty pleasure in a fun, delightful way.

I loved how feisty Jane was.  She knew what her worth was and wasn’t going to settle for anything less than she deserved.  The fact that she didn’t just crumble at Weston’s feet when she realized there was still something between them was amazing.  My heart broke for what she had been through, but I was impressed with her strength to overcome it and forgive Weston for the sins of their shared history.

For me, too often second-chance romances leave out a vital part of the story: the forgiveness and understanding of what went wrong in the past.  Either it comes so late in the recoupling it feels unimportant, or it’s barely glossed over and forgotten.  I was happy to see Jane and Weston confront their parts in what had happened, and it felt like they came to a place of true reconciliation regarding their past.

Dear Jane is a standalone novel, though there have been mentions of Weston in other books he hasn’t played a major part in any of them.  Also, there will be a spinoff of Dear Jane, Finding Alexei which will also be a standalone, but we meet Alexei in this novel.  Dear Jane is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Jane and Weston.

NEW RELEASE!! Flirting with Forever by Kendall Ryan ~ Sarah A’s Review

𝗡𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻.

𝗡𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝘅.

𝗡𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽.

This is the oath I took in solidarity with my best friend after a particularly heinous breakup left him shattered.

No problem, right?

𝘞𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨.

Because lately, I’ve begun developing big, messy feelings for our best female friend who we both swore was off-limits since we were sixteen years old.

I shouldn’t notice the way her hair turns golden when it catches the light, I shouldn’t make it a goal to see her dimples when she laughs, I shouldn’t find her knowledge on current affairs so sexy.

I’m pretty sure she’s oblivious, which is a good thing, I try to convince myself.
Until one night after too many cocktails when we fall into bed together.

I’m left with an awkward morning-after, and one of the hardest choices I’ve ever had to make.

Confess how I feel, and potentially lose both of my best friends in the process, or bury my feelings and watch her move on?

How can something so wrong feel so right?

Flirting with Forever was a quick, sweet friends-to-lovers romance. It was a fun, nearly drama-free ride, and a great way to spend a lazy afternoon.

I love me a good friends-to-lovers romance and Flirting with Forever adorably hit that spot. I loved how easily and naturally they transitioned from the love and affection they’d always shared into something more, something beautiful. I could understand their hesitance to explore the feelings blossoming between them, especially since they had the added dimension of their other best friend to think about. However, it was evident from the beginning they were meant for each other.

The only wish I had for Flirting with Forever was that the end be a little more fleshed out. It felt a little rushed, and I would have loved to have seen a little more of what happened between the final chapter and the epilogue.

Flirting with Forever is a standalone novel. It has some loose ties to other novels from Kendall Ryan, but nothing that affects the enjoyment of this book. The story is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Natalie and Camden.

I look up at Cam and meet his eyes, brimming with secrets. I need answers, and I need them now.

No more secrets, Cam.

“What’s going on?”

The man in my arms doesn’t answer with his words. Instead, he takes hold of the edge of my towel and pulls it from my body. I gasp at the sensation of our skin pressing intimately together. I brace myself against his chiseled arms, digging my fingers into his biceps for purchase.

He isn’t done. He lifts his hands, one to my hip, one to my cheek. His thumb draws a small circle on my exposed hip bone. With the side of his knuckle, he traces the outline of my lower lip. I stay very, very still so he won’t notice the slight shudder racing down my spine.

“I can’t tell you,” he says so softly that it breaks my heart.

“Yes, you can.” I barely recognize my own voice. Cam’s eyes, dark and hurting, are locked on my lips. I want to ease that pain.

And I think I know how.

I lean in closer, pulling myself up to his level with my hands on his chest. Our breaths mingle and everything is warm, the air between us aflame.

“You’re killing me.” These are the words that fall from Cam’s lips before they meet mine.

God.

My lips are locked against his in the softest of kisses. I catch his lower lip with my own, pressing every ounce of my feelings into him. Every thank you for being there for me. Every you’re perfect for being exactly what I need.

Can he feel how much I care for him?

He’s still for a whole Mississippi second—a second too long for me to bear.

Oh God. What have I done?

But the moment I pull away, Cam leans in. His hands are on my face, holding my lips against his. He tilts my head, digs his fingers into my hair, and opens his mouth to mine.

“Natalie . . .”

The sound of my name slipping so lustfully from the back of his throat sends a jolt all the way down. All the way down.

I pull myself even higher on my toes, clinging to him with my arms around his neck. He returns the favor, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me tight against him. Our mouths are magnetic, unable to separate, unwilling to stop.

My God. I’m kissing Cam.

I’m kissing my best friend.

I’m kissing him and I can’t stop.

I dart my tongue between his lips, caressing the underside of his upper lip. He growls, maddened by my bold move. His fingers blaze fiery trails down my neck and shoulders. His hands explore me, memorizing the slope of my back and the curve of my hips. Each touch is so soft, yet so electric.

Soon it’s all frantic kisses and eager moans that I’m pretty sure are coming from me. I press into his shoulders, leaving handprints on his chest. My fingers draw lines down his abdomen, then finally trace along the bulge beneath his towel.

Cam jerks back, his eyes full of questions.

But there’s no more time for questions. We’ve wasted far too much of it.

BEDFELLOWS by Lola Leighton ~ Sarah A’s Review

I wasn’t looking to fall for one man. Let alone two…

Sullivan and Will are as close as two friends can be. Growing up in the system forced them to rely on each other, and they’ve become accustomed to sharing everything—including women.

Now they’re ready for more. To find love. To start a family. To see the dreams they’ve shared since childhood come true.

Apparently I tick off every box on their list—brains, beauty, and sass. I never hesitate to put both men in their places—which they find sexy as hell.

One problem, I’m a traditional girl, with traditional values—one man, one woman, till death do us part—kind of values.

They’re willing to work to prove how very right the three of us could be, but what happens next is anyone’s guess…

I couldn’t put this book down!  Once I picked it up, I didn’t even take a bathroom break.  Bedfellows was so engrossing and fun.  I love MMF, and this really hit all the highpoints I love about those kinds of stories.  This was a relatively short read, I started after dinner and was done just an hour after bedtime, and I enjoyed every second I spent reading Bedfellows.

I’m no stranger to ménage relationships and consider MMF (male sexual content included) my favorite type of triad relationship.  Will and Sullivan had such an interesting dynamic, they seemed to be so completely in sync there was no question they were soul mates, so I was rooting for them to realize the potential of their connection fully.  I was not disappointed, they were beautiful together, and I think I would have read a book entirely about them, not that I didn’t love Adrienne and what she added to the story, but it was the men that enraptured me to this novel.

I love that Ms. Leighton addressed many of the pitfalls of entering a non-traditional relationship and delved into the things other people would think about it, from jealousy to anger to fear and disgust.  She also illustrated the bonuses of having two lovers beautifully.  Adrienne, Will, and Sullivan navigated those pitfalls and rewards wonderfully.  It was lovely to see them insist on complete transparency in their relationship and it definitely gave them a solid foundation on which to build a trusting, loving, impartial bond.

The only wish I have for this book would be a more fleshed out ending.  I felt like the last 20% of the book was rushed, and there was so much happening we never got truly satisfying resolutions to a lot of the stuff going on.  The book itself ended satisfactorily; it was just a few of the conflicts I would have like to have seen settled on page.

Lola Leighton is the pseudonym for a best-selling author whom I’ve loved for a long time.  This book definitely felt similar to her other novels and delivered the same satisfaction I get from reading the books she’s published under her other name.

NEW RELEASE!! Mister Tonight by Kendall Ryan ~ Sarah A’s Review

From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a standalone romance about a swoony single dad and the new neighbor he falls for.

Last night was the most embarrassing night of my life.

I was THAT girl.

You know, the highly intoxicated chick celebrating her thirtieth with her two best friends—the ones who are happily married. And the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless to celebrate.

By reckless, I meant the sexy and alluring man dressed in a business suit standing near the bar. You know his type—tall, dark, and handsome. I was sure he was out of my league, but I’d had just enough alcohol that things like that no longer seemed to matter. I’m not fat, mind you, but you can tell I like French fries, so there’s that.

He took me home and I enjoyed the hottest birthday sex of my life, well until it came to a screeching, and rather unwelcome halt.

There’s nothing quite like being interrupted mid-ride with a little voice asking:
“What are you doing to my daddy?”

Just kill me now…… or so I thought.

Come to find out the man I rode like a bull at the rodeo is my new landlord.

Mister Tonight was a fun, light, read. It’s relatively short, so it would make for a great book to take to the pool while you’re watching the kiddos splash around. You know, if you don’t mind reading some pretty steamy intimate scenes in public. Kendall Ryan delivered a great angst-free romance with Mister Tonight.

There were some serious laugh-out-loud moments in this book, four-year-old daughter walking in on ‘adult snuggle time,’ anyone? Little Maddie was adorable, precocious, and maybe a little well-spoken and mature for her age. Her constant blunt candor combined with the innocence of a child layered the story with a layer of amusement that can only be reached with the help of kids.

I loved Kate’s independence, her confidence in herself. I loved that she had no reservations about knowing what she wanted and going for it. She was a fascinating character, and I’d love to have the lack of inhibitions regarding sexuality she had. She gave me something to strive for in asking for what I want. I did, however, have a hard time understanding her reluctance to have a committed relationship, she was so terrified of the idea it seemed like there had to be more going on that the throwaway explanation given in the book, it just seemed incongruous.

I’m a sucker for a single dad, especially one as involved as Hunter. He never discounted Maddie or Kate’s abilities to take care of themselves and strove to ensure he wasn’t encroaching on either of their individualism. It clear from the off he valued more than just a quick lay or a night off from his kid. There was a quiet intensity about him – and the way he loved – that jumped off the pages without ever having to be detailed. He really was quite a catch; Kate couldn’t have done better.

After reading a slew of emotionally exhausting books, Mister Tonight was a nice reprieve. It was sweet enough to keep me interested, funny enough to lift my spirit, and romantic enough to make me swoon. I appreciated how short and sweet it was, and love to load up on these kinds of for the summer. My favorite part of the book was how effortless the whole thing felt. Kate’s refusal to let them put expectations on their relationship made it so much easier for them to be open and honest, ultimately it allowed them to build a solid foundation for the more she never wanted.

Kendall Ryan delivered a great summertime read with Mister Tonight. It was written with such ease and comfort, it felt like cuddling up with an old friend. I love how easily Ms. Ryan shifts back and forth between her more intense work and these lighter romcoms.

fucking loved it. The idea of a man devoted to his kid had them panting for days. But casual, no-strings hookups? To them, me being a dad screamed one of two things: I was either an irresponsible asshole who couldn’t properly wrap it up, or I was a total commitment addict trying to lure them in with my adorable four-year-old child in need of a new mama. Either way, it usually didn’t go over well. But so far, Kate was handling it fine.

Then she crossed the room toward me, and a single thought pervaded my brain.

Fuck, she’s sexy.

All those curves and her throaty laugh, coupled with her confidence? I was a total sucker for a confident woman who knew what she wanted.

“Happy birthday,” I whispered, placing my hands on her waist and drawing her in close.

Just because this would most likely be a one-time thing didn’t mean I wanted to rush through it. Quite the opposite, actually. I wanted to savor and enjoy every minute of this. Starting with the perfect kiss.

“It’s almost midnight,” she murmured, her lips just inches from mine.

Placing one hand on her cheek, I guided her mouth to mine, sealing my lips over hers in a slow, soft kiss.

She responded perfectly, opening her mouth in a silent invitation for my tongue to slide against hers. My hands found those curves wrapped under that black fuck-me dress I’d been admiring, and God, she felt even better under my palms than I could have imagined. Soft and warm and so inviting.

I pressed one more slow kiss to her lips and pulled back to study her reaction. I rarely did this kind of thing. Having her here was surreal . . . and really fucking turning me on, knowing what was probably about to happen.

“Can I get you something to drink?” I asked, slipping my hand around her waist. If she’d changed her mind or wanted to slow things down, I wanted her to know that was fine too.

“I can think of other things I’d rather be doing with my mouth,” she replied, her voice low and sultry as she ran her fingertips over my chest.

God, I love a woman who knows what she wants.
