- Seek by Mia Sheridan
Wealthy socialite Olivia Barton never imagined her fiancé would disappear on what was supposed to be a routine business trip. She’s even more heartbroken and confused when a hired private investigator tracks him half a world away, to a seaside town in Colombia. But the country has recently been ravaged by a massive earthquake and deadly tsunami, shutting down outside communication and making travel all but impossible. Still, Olivia is determined to make it to Colombia to find the answers she so desperately seeks. What she needs is a guide—a mercenary.
The man named Thomas arrives in shadows, an unmistakable air of danger about him, promising to help lead her through the ruined, crime-infested country. But when Thomas and Olivia find themselves fighting an undeniable attraction, danger takes on a whole new meaning. Then again, in the lush jungles of South America, all the rules are different and Thomas and Olivia are about to discover that sometimes the thing you seek, isn’t necessarily the thing you find.
Seek is a STANDALONE novel with a small, fun connection to the Sign of Love Collection
Whitney’s 5 Star Review
I get giddy every time Mia Sheridan announces she’ll be writing another novel. She snuck this one up on us and is *hopefully* introducing us to a new series as well! A stand alone, Seek appears to be the first book in a new Solstice series. Now, I will read anything Mia writes. She could write a chemistry textbook and I’d even read that (I don’t have to understand it, right!). But Seek was truly beautiful.
It’s almost hard to describe what trope it is. There’s a degree of insta-love since the majority of the story takes places within a few days time. But the magic that is Mia somehow made it feel like these characters knew each other so well! I think it’s all that they go through together and how Livvy and Thomas just seem to automatically ‘get’ each other that makes the insta-love part work so well.
This book does have a different feel than some of Mia’s others. It’s got some danger, some thrills and while there is definitely angst, since this is a shorter book in a short timeline, it doesn’t feel as gut wrenching as previous books. It’s a little shorter which worked well with the storyline although I’d have loved to see a few more chapters. I think anyone who is a Mia will enjoy this book along with anyone who enjoys romantic contemporary suspense.
I can’t wait to read more Mia magic!
