Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole
Hades Hangmen #3
Genre: New Adult / Dark Contemporary Romance
Release date: August 11, 2015
“For fractured souls are like magnets.
Drawn to collide into an impossible bliss…”
Labeled a ‘Cursed’ woman of Eve from birth, Maddie has endured nothing but pain and repression at the hands of The Order’s most abusive elder, Moses. Now living with her sister in The Hangmen’s secluded compound, finally, Maddie, is free. Free from the suffocating faith she no longer believes in. Free from endless years of physical and mental torment.
At age twenty-one, the timid and shy Maddie is content to live within the confines of her new home—safe from the outside world, safe from harm and, strangely, protected by the Hangmen’s most volatile member; the heavily pierced and tattooed, Flame.
The man who ceaselessly watches over her with his midnight dark and searing eyes. The man who protects her with a breath-taking intensity. And the man who stirs something deep within her numbed heart.
But when circumstances conspire for Flame to need HER help, Maddie bravely risks it all for the broken man who has captivated her fragile soul.
The Hangmen’s most infamous member, Flame, is ruled by one thing—anger. Plagued by haunting demons from his past, an all-consuming rage, and isolated by an abhorrent hatred of being touched, Flame’s days are filled with suffocating darkness, pierced only by a single ray of light—Maddie. The shy, beautiful woman he cannot purge from his thoughts. The woman he has an overwhelming need to possess…
… the only person who has ever been able to touch him.
Flame’s mission in life is to protect Maddie, to keep her safe. Until a trigger from his troubled past sends him spiraling into madness, trapping him in the deepest recesses of his disturbed mind.
His Hangmen brothers fear that Flame is beyond saving.
His only hope of salvation: Maddie and her healing light.
Whitney’s Six Star Review
If you told me a year ago I’d be six starring an MC book, I would have told you you were crazy. MC books have never been my thing… until Tillie Cole. I don’t generally mind violence in books, it’s the way a lot of MC characters treat women and the gang like activity that has always bothered me.
And the Hades Hangmen are certainly no angels. There is violence, drug references, illegal activity, etc. But I find all those things take a back burner to the message of unconditional love and hope each of these books has had so far. Plus they put their women on pedestals and truly love them.
I’ve been beyond excited for Flame and Maddie’s story. How on earth was Tillie going to explain Flame’s outrageous and quite frankly, murderous behavior? He’s part of the psycho trio for a reason. He’s pretty nuts. But from the moment he meets Maddie, he clearly feels protective of her so I couldn’t wait to jump into his mind. I was prepared for heartbreak but wow… my heart bled for his character and all he went through as a child.
But Maddie soothes his soul just as he does for her. In a world that has only brought them pain and destruction, together they learn what it’s like to love and begin the healing process. Maddie and Flame actually have a lot in common regarding their pasts and from page one, I found their relationship to be beautiful. Despite his actions with the Hangmen, Flame has an innocence to his emotions and I cried the first time he let Maddie touch him. And that wasn’t the only time I cried during this book.
Souls Unfractured is by far my favorite of this series. This is not just your average MC book. It’s a story of two people finding safety and hope in a world that has done nothing but destroy them.
A few other tidbits… the story picks up right where the last book left off. Cain and his twin make appearances as I expected them to as well as all of our other favorite characters. There are several twists and turns, but the ending was perfect for Maddie and Flame. I’m even starting to feel very sympathetic for Cain again. So very happy I decided to give this series a chance!
**Though each book in this series has different main characters, each book builds upon the last one so they should be read in order. There is a lot that won’t make sense if you don’t.
About the Author:
Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother — a farmer’s daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
