Lauren Reynolds wanted only two things in life—to run her father’s horse breeding business and Colt Matthews. Fearing Colt would take her position within the family business, she tried to push him far away from her heart.
When life could no longer keep Lauren and Colt apart, their two worlds became one. Every second of every moment, they spent together. Their love bloomed into something neither of them imagined—a bond so strong Lauren and Colt believed nothing would ever stand in their way.
However, life threw a cruel twist into Colt and Lauren’s planned happily ever after. Will fate let them live out the life they dreamed of, or will one of them be left alone, lost and angry?
“I’ll spend forever holding you … even if it’s only in my memory.”
Lauren stood before me with the sexiest grin on her face. “That. Was. Fun.”
Laughing, I pulled her into my arms. “Yeah it was. I’ve never done anything like that before.”
Gazing into my eyes, Lauren seemed sedated. Her eyes sparkled and I imagined taking her again on the table and just burying my dick deep inside her as I slowly made love to her.
Lauren’s eyes filled with love as she spoke softly. “I’ve never done anything like that before either. We have lots of firsts together.” Rubbing her nose with mine, I whispered, “Yes we do. I have a lot more firsts planned for us, Lauren.” Burying her face in my chest, she said in a muffled voice, “I can’t wait.”
I absolutely love everything that Kelly Elliott writes. Holding You is the third book in her Love Wanted in Texas series. This book can be read as a standalone but to get a better feel for the characters I recommend reading the first two books in the series as well. This book focuses on Colt who happens to be the son of Gunner and Ellie and Lauren who is the daughter of Scott and Jessie from Kelly’s Wanted series.
Lauren Reynolds has loved Colt Mathews since she was six years old. She has never been able to open up and admit her feelings for him. When she sees him across the room at Luke and Libby’s wedding flirting with another girl she finally decides its time to open up to him before he moves on with someone else. Things heat up quickly between these two and they finally get to show how much they love one another. Lauren has been upset with Colt because her dad thinks that she needs Colt’s help in taking over the family business and she doesn’t agree. When she finally opens up to him about it Colt decides he will do whatever it takes to convince Scott that Lauren is very capable of taking over the business. When a scary situation arises Colt proves just how much he loves Lauren and gives up what he thought was his dream to be with her and live his real dream of running her family’s ranch with her. Will Lauren let Colt help her run the family business or will she continue to push him away even though he is the only guy she will ever love?
“The one girl whom I had fallen in love with in high school, who I fought for the last two years to push my feelings away from her, who I had spent countless night dreaming about, was finally in my arms. My plan from this moment on was to love her with everything I had. I was never letting Lauren go.”
“My sweet Lauren. I promise you…I’ll spend forever holding you…even if it’s only in my memories.”
I loved the connection between Colt and Lauren. Through good times and bad the were always there for each other. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. I loved catching up with the Luke, Libby, Will, Alex, Grace, Taylor, Maegan and all the parents from the Wanted series. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Kelly Elliott is married to a wonderful Texas cowboy who has a knack for making her laugh almost daily and supports her crazy ideas and dreams for some unknown reason…he claims it’s because he loves her!
She’s also a mom to an amazing daughter who is constantly asking for something to eat while her fingers move like mad on her cell phone sending out what is sure to be another very important text message.
In her spare time she loves to sit in her small corner overlooking the Texas hill country and write.
One of her favorite things to do is go for hikes around her property with Gus….her chocolate lab and the other man in her life, and Rose, her golden retriever. When Kelly is not outside helping the hubby haul brush, move rocks or whatever fun chore he has in store for her that day, you’ll find her inside reading, writing or watching HGTV.
