ALP P's Review

YOU is intense, riveting and grossly disturbing. It’s full of spine-chilling secrets and ominous undertones that will reel you in and hold you captive to the very end. I stepped outside my comfort zone with this book and I am delighted my morbid curiosity prevented me from walking away.

As I sit here pondering my thoughts, my mind is still reeling, my nerves are unsettled and I struggle to fathom just how Joe got under my skin. He charmed the sh*t out of me and I was fascinated and repulsed simultaneously. Beck’s cavalier behavior made me fear for her and I found myself chiding her repeatedly. The second person point of view added a perverse twist to the story and made it difficult to differentiate between authentic and fabricated chemistry between the characters.

This book is not for the weak at heart or those who can’t stomach perverse and sinister themes. YOU is NOT a romance in the traditional sense. You will not find hearts and flowers. However, don’t let that stop you for taking the tumultuously eerie journey with Beck and Joe. The story is unique, the characters are complex, and the experience is unforgettable.

Noteworthy Consideration – the narrator for the audiobook is fabulous and my experience with this book was significantly heightened with the audiobook when compared to the chapters that I read myself.

Overall Rating: 4 Stars
