Whitney Four Star Review

After falling in love with Ahren’s Surrendering series, I was excitedly awaiting this new stand alone staring a hot football player, Reed, and a sweet but feisty heroine, Ari.  If you are a fan of the Surrendering series, you will love this book. The writing style is much the same with a cast of great side characters and a swoony leading man.

It’s hard not to fall for Reed though I can’t give too much away about his character or it will ruin the story. Suffice it to say that when he wants something, he goes after it with all his heart. He’s loyal and protective, putting his friends and family above himself.

Ari is a great female lead in that she’s not a pushover or whiny. She is a little too dramatic at times (as are some of the other characters) which is why I only gave the book four stars but that was easily overlooked as I got sucked into the story.

Ahren gives us a bit of mystery as Ari and Reed try to discover who went to such great lengths to keep them apart over the course of several years. There is not a love triangle but I am definitely in love with Ari’s best friend, Luke. This is a stand alone though I’m hoping there will be a spin off for him.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting a fun and sexy read. The sex scenes are pretty steamy so this is not for the faint of heart. Ahren is good at giving us interesting storylines with a lot of drama and a hint of danger thrown in. This book will keep you on your toes!
