A New Series by NYT Bestselling Author Nicole Williams

Hard Knox cover front

The Outsider Chronicles, #1

New Adult/Adult Contemporary

Released August 12, 2014

Knox Jagger. The name inspires resent in every male at Sinclair University, want in every female, and contempt in Charlie Chase. Charlie can be summed up in three words: independent, independent, and independent. To Charlie, Knox epitomizes everything that’s wrong with college males: prolific one-night stands, drunken senseless fights, and a body that hints at prioritizing gym time over study time.

As an up-and-coming writer for Sinclair University’s newspaper, Charlie’s tasked with getting to the bottom of who’s been dropping little white pills into girls’ drinks at parties. In an ocean of All-American boys sporting polo shirts and innocent smiles, Knox is the obvious suspect. As evidence piles up against the bad boy of Sinclair, Charlie becomes more and more certain it isn’t Knox. But when her drink is dosed at a party and she wakes up on Knox’s couch the next morning, Charlie’s left with more questions than answers when it comes to Knox Jagger.

How can Charlie ever hope to uncover the truth behind a guy so closed off he’s become . . .

Hard Knox.

Whitney’s 4.5 Star Review

4.5 stars for the start of a promising new series!

Knox is a bad boy. The baddest of the bad. Constant fights, a slew of women every weekend and rumors of illegal activity are all reasons why Charlie should stay far away from him.

But Charlie has never been one to back down from a challenge. As a feisty and hard headed college journalism major, she’s all about finding the story. When she and other girls are given ‘roofies’ at multiple college parties, she will stop at nothing to find the culprit. Of course, Knox is the first one people look to for blame.

But certain events (not gonna spoil!) lead Charlie to think Knox is not capable of hurting a woman that way. As the two become closer, she fights to break down his hard heart and find out who he really is.

I really, really enjoyed most of this book. Knox is a great character and oh so sexy. Charlie got on my nerves a bit but she’s quite snarky and funny too. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts and the few sexy times in the book made me swoon. Character development was very good, Nicole’s writing style moves quickly, and I had several LOL moments.

I’m going to kind of compare this book to Nicole’s previous Crash series regarding the tone/feel of the story. A few parts of the book are just too unbelievable for real life but work ok for fiction. I can’t get specific because that would spoil the story but mostly scenes or characteristics not believable for the age/situation of the characters. If you can ignore those things and concentrate on the heart of the story and the characters, you’ll be ok. And if you enjoyed the Crash series, you’ll love this.

Definitely recommended and this does serve as a stand alone!
